Sitting in retreat is vital to Zen practice—it is a rare opportunity to deepen your spiritual practice through extended silent meditation, walking, eating in silence together as Sangha community. December 8 is celebrated around the world as Buddha’s enlightenment day and we all can practice the same way, as enlightened awake beings.
At our evening Zazen, we will hold a special ceremony to offer Sangha support to our two Dharma holders as they practice for Dharma transmission.

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to find your cushion or chair and speak to others. Park in the back parking lot of the church and find the entrance (look for a sign) or park in front of the church and walk to the back.
If you arrive after 4:45 pm, wait in the hall until the second bell rings, then enter the Zendo. Someone will greet you.
