Martine Taikai Palmiter, Sensei

Authorized to teach and transmit the Dharma in the direct lineage of the White Plum Asanga , Taikai Sensei received authorization to teach from Sensei Rose Mary Myoan Dougherty of One Heart Sangha in Silver Spring MD and dharma transmission (Denbo) with Sensei Bob Jingen Ertman in 2019. Her dharma name “Taikai” means peaceful ocean. Taikai Sensei started her study of Zen in 2001.

She started her practice with One Heart Sangha, taking Jukai in 2021 becoming a Lay Preceptor in 2021 . Martine Taikai Sensei has trust that Zen meditation and daily living of of the compassionate and wise Bodhisattva path can awaken the world to love and wholeness.

Sensei is a retired Human Resources manager for the Federal Government, a grandmother, gardener, cyclist, yogi, and community volunteer. She is a member of the White Plum Lineage, the Lay Zen Teachers Association and the American Zen Teachers Association.
